COVID-19 Member Update

The progress that Ontario has maintained over the summer months in our battle to keep COVID-19 at bay has been remarkable. However, while the risk remains, we cannot let our guard down. Tandia continues with our ongoing vigilance and proactive measures to ensure the personal and financial health and safety of our members, employees and communities.

As families, teachers and students prepare to head back to school as safely as possible, we would like to share our latest news and plans for the fall.

Ancaster Branch Set to Re-open

The Ancaster Branch will re-open right after Labour Day on Tuesday September 8, 2020 with reduced branch hours and limited cash services in line with our other branch locations. An updated list of locations and hours including Ancaster is available here.

As with our other branches, plexiglass barriers and social distance markers will be in place and masks or face coverings are required in accordance with the local bylaw. Please plan to visit the branch only for essential services that cannot be completed online, at the ATM or over the phone. We extend our thanks to Ancaster Branch members for your patience and understanding while the branch has been closed.

​Financial Webinar Series

There’s no doubt that COVID-19 has had an impact on our financial wellness in one way or another. Over the summer, our Wealth Services team has developed a Wealth Speaker Series with expert guests sharing their timely knowledge, insights and perspectives via webinar.

The next webinar date is Wednesday September 9 at 12:30 and the topic is titled, A View from the Top: Economic Update and Market Outlook with Mackenzie Investments. You can learn more and register below, and also view our previous recorded webinars through this link.

A new Online Banking experience for you

In July, we launched our new state-of-the-art online banking platform that delivers a more light, agile and responsive online banking experience. 

Recognizing the important of online banking to our members especially during this pandemic period, members have the choice of the new online banking experience or continuing to use the ‘classic’ version. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to login and give it a try.

New Milton and Downtown Hamilton Branches opening soon

Even with the challenges of COVID-19, we are very pleased that construction delays have been minimal, and progress continues on our two branch relocations – the Milton Branch and Hamilton’s Downtown Branch. 

Our new Milton Branch location at 6020 Main Street West (at Tremaine) will be the first to open in late September, followed by a new Hamilton Downtown location at 280 Barton Street West (near Locke Street North) by early November. Given the imminent timing, a decision has been made to keep the Hamilton James Street branch closed. 

Members of both branches will be sent a letter in September with full details about the new branch openings and a seamless transition of their accounts to the new locations.

As this historic pandemic continues to unfold, please be assured that the Board and Senior Management are regularly examining our in-branch service levels and our remote service alternatives including digital banking, telephone appointments and telephone service through our Member Solutions Centre. Leading our decisions is the health and safety of our members and employees and the recommendations of our government and public health officials.
