The COVID-19 pandemic has created extraordinary circumstances and has undoubtedly placed additional challenges on students both academically and financially this year. As a result and to assist more young members entering post-secondary education in the fall of 2020, in late April Tandia invited youth members heading into their first year of post-secondary education in the fall of 2020 to apply for one of five $1,000 our Post-Secondary Scholarship Awards including one award for the child of a Tandia employee.
Participants were asked to create and submit a video under two minutes in length that conveyed the high school experience they were most proud of, whether academic, artistic or athletic - whatever experience they were most proud to share. Given the circumstances of the pandemic lockdown, our applicants stepped up to the challenge of creating their video in a socially distanced way and without the usual backdrops of their schools or community locations.
We received many outstanding videos that were the most creatively produced to date and we appreciate the planning and effort that went into each one. All of our participants showed outstanding pride in their high school achievements and we wish them all the best with their post-secondary studies.
